Born on July 19, 1924, in Denver, Colorado, Martin Patterson Hingle has died on the 3rd of January, 2009, at the age of 84, at his home in Carolina Beach, North Carolina, due to a two- year fight with blood cancer. Known for his role as Commissioner James Gordon in the first four Batman films, Pat Hingle made his screen debut in 1954 with an uncredited role in On the Waterfront, and was last seen in 2008 in the film Undoing Time. His diverse film and television career lasted for more then fifty-years. He will be missed by many, may he rest in peace.
