Stranger Than Fiction review by John C.

**** (out of 4)

Will Ferrell proved with Stranger Than Fiction that he has no trouble acting in a more serious role. It could by definition be called a comedy, but not really one where you laugh out loud at what's going on, but are more amused by the absurdity of it all. Even with great leading work by Ferrell, excellent supporting work by Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and one of the greatest movie endings I have ever seen, Stranger Than Fiction was sadly forgotten for any awards, even though it would have been worthy of at least a nomination for Best Picture. Stranger Than Fiction is an overlooked and underrated masterpiece, that could easily have been called the best film of 2006, or of any other year. I love this movie.
